TotalMix FX for iPad is a mobile application by RME that mirrors the TotalMix FX software available for Windows and Mac on iOS devices. It enables users to manage the audio interface's mixer and effects when the device is set to Class Compliant mode and connected to an iPad.

<ul>
<li>This application does not support wireless functionality. For remote control of TotalMix FX on a Windows or Mac computer, users can utilize RME's complimentary app, TotalMix Remote.</li>
<li>Important Note: TotalMix FX for iPad is exclusively compatible with RME audio interfaces such as Fireface UFX+, UFX II, UFX, UCX, 802, Babyface, Babyface Pro, and MADIface Pro while operating in Class Compliant mode.</li>
</ul>

TotalMix FX for iPad Android runs seamlessly on iPad2 or newer devices running iOS 12.0 or higher. It requires minimal system resources as it does not process audio locally but instead acts as a remote controller for the hardware's computations. The app supports the storage and loading of Workspaces and offers comprehensive compatibility, including all features from the desktop version, except for MIDI/OSC and TCP/IP remote control.

When paired with Fireface UCX and Fireface 802, the app enables full access to the devices' functionalities, providing a complete overview and rapid configuration possibilities.

Users of Fireface UFX, UFX II, and UFX+ can also benefit from the app's extensive functionality. It fully supports DURec (Direct USB Recording) along with seamless control via the iPad.

While users of Babyface, Babyface Pro, and MADIface Pro may experience some limitations due to technical constraints (such as unavailability of Reverb and Echo effects), all other features are accessible and operational through the iPad interface. The MADIface Pro offers 24 channels for playback/record - consisting of 4 analog and 20 from MADI streams.

An advantage of TotalMix FX for iPad is its utilization of iOS's background audio feature. This allows users to swiftly switch between ongoing recording/playback activities and TotalMix; make necessary adjustments; then seamlessly return to their primary audio applications without any interruptions.

The application includes a detailed help section for user guidance.
